COVID-19 and Safety Information

I am so excited to be able to welcome back my clients and resume booking sessions in a limited capacity!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have put the following precautions in place to ensure the safety and comfort of my clients.  I want to reassure you, I am following all of the precautions and policies as recommended by the state of Ohio, the CDC, and the WHO. In addition to those mandates, I have made some additional changes to my policies to further reduce the risk to my clients and to my family.

In order to serve you and your family, the following guidelines and policies will govern all sessions until further notice.  This information will be included in your contract and you will be asked to acknowledge you have read and understand these policies.

Safety Precautions:

Health:

If you, anyone in your group, or anyone residing in your home have a fever, cough, stomach bug, or are generally not feeling well, please call to reschedule your session. Likewise, I will reschedule your session if I or a member of my family is sick.

Hand Washing & Sanitation:

As always, I will wash my hands and sanitize before beginning our session together.  If your session is taking place in your home, I will bring disinfectant wipes to sanitize my equipment and will do my best to wipe down anything I may come in contact with during your session.

Face Mask:

Participants are not required to wear face masks, however for your safety, I will wear one for the duration of your session.

New Policies:

Social Distancing:

I will be avoiding all personal contact with my clients to include: handshaking, hugs, helping manage young children, as well as adjusting hair/clothing while shooting. All sessions will take place while maintaining a minimum of 6ft between myself and clients.  Please carefully consider your space.  If 6ft of distance between myself and your family is not possible to maintain, the session must take place outdoors.  Sessions will be limited to no more than 9 participants.  All participants must be living in the same household or will be required to maintain 6ft distance away from each other.

Outdoor Sessions:

I will not be handling your items.  Please make sure to leave sunglasses, wallets and cellphones in your car.  If you think you will want a blanket to sit on, please bring your own as I will no longer be providing one.

Newborn Sessions:

I consider myself a lifestyle newborn photographer and as such, most of your session involves light posing as you and your family snuggle and enjoy your new addition.  I have always made every effort to include one swaddled/wrapped posed portrait as I know what a treasured keepsake that kind of photo is.  While many other photographers are continuing to pose and handle babies at this time, I personally don’t feel the risk is warranted.  If this type of photo is a must have for you, I will be happy walk you through wrapping and positioning your baby to make this type of shot feasible, in the safest way possible.

I want to be completely candid with you. I choose to photograph families because it feels incredible to be able to capture real love and joy and preserve it for generations to come.  Putting you or your loved ones, or mine, at risk is not a chance I am willing to take.  The truth is, you can find photographers willing to swaddle and pose your newborns, you can find photographers willing to shoot in your home regardless of social distancing, and you can find photographers who will shoot your extended family sessions.  No amount of money would ease my guilt if I endangered my clients or my own children as a result of doing a photo shoot. I understand that opinions on the risks associated with the pandemic differ widely, so if the guidelines laid out do not suit you or your vision for a session, I can assist you in finding an alternative photographer. I will be doing my best to update this information as the situation continues to develop.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
